Friday March 12 2010 This week's games were all in the David Bloor Memorial Trophy, and we saw the first two teams book their slots in the quarter-finals. And not even a single ball was kicked in their group either. Stour Valley Rover's cancellation meant that their five-point deduction plus the 5-0 win awarded to Tipton Family Church FC, saw the group qualification places signed, sealed and delivered. Other teams that have now mathematically qualified for the last eight are Brandhall & Quinton FC and Hilly House Both claimed convincing victories, beating Crestwood Cobras 5-0 and St Matthew's Ravens 8-1 respectively. Tom Adams took his goal tally to 40 for the season and if he continues that sort of form, Hilly House will be looking to take a trophy - or two! The final game ended in a draw as Midland Elite FC and AFC Fatherless Barn battled out a 3-3 draw. Both teams had chances in this very open match and perhaps a draw was a fair result. It certainly leaves the group open in terms of who will not make the cut. Still plenty to play for there. SICM Sevens report
