Brandhall do well without even kicking a ball

Saturday March 6 2010

With both teams having an outside chance of making a late title push, Brandhall & Quinton FC will be happy that the game between Tipton Family Church FC and Midland Elite FC ended in a 1-1 draw. It could be argued as two points lost for both teams, on the other hand it was a very good game and a draw was a fair result.

One team who will probably be frustrated though is AFC Fatherless Barn who lost out by the odd goal to Hilly House in a game that saw the net found eleven times. Leading at the break, there won't be many teams that score five past Hilly House, hence the understandable feeling that they should have got something from the match.

The other two Monday games were in the DBMT. Kingsway Lions put their poor league form behind them as they moved to nine points and certain qualification into the last eight. Theirs was also a close game though as they beat Crestwood Cobras 5-4. The latter are now rooted at the bottom of the group with no points as of yet. After two defeats at the hands of Tipton, Crestwood Church FC finally got off the mark as they defeated Stour Valley Rovers 4-0.

In spite of the goals scored overall, there was only one hat-trick. Or to be more precise a hat-trick plus two, as Hilly House's Tom Adams scored five. This takes him ahead of the goalscorers so far with thirty five goals.
