  Shock defeat for Brandhall

Friday February 26 2010

After being at the head of the table for so long, suddenly Brandhall & Quinton's claim on the league title doesn't look so solid. Isn't it amazing how one game can change everything. With Crestwood Church FC having lost every match this year so far, you would have expected the B&Q bandwagon to continue rolling. But the opposite happened as they were derailed 2-1 and Crestwood took the points. It certainly opens up the title race as we head into the final weeks of the season.

In the DBMT, Ebenezer FC gave themselves a lifeline towards qualification in the knockout stages. A solid 3-0 win over Crestwood Cobras sees them add their first points in the group following a run of three straight defeats. In the other Monday game, Midland Elite FC forfeited their match with Hilly House which sees them slip back due to the points deduction. But there are still plenty of games to go yet before we start to fill in the quarter-final slots.

Tuesday's games were cancelled due to the snow. If there is any issue with the weather I telephone the Centre to get updates or decisions. I then make sure that they are posted to my twitter, which in turn goes to my personal facebook page. If I am at home I will also post directly on this home page as well. So keep checking if there are any doubts. Hopefully though we can move on now as we leave February behind.

This coming week sees just one Tuesday game from now on as we take four Monday slots. Try and make sure you get the right pitches as it will mean everything runs smoothly. Eight teams not knowing where they are supposed to be will be chaos. Also, Tuesday teams from now on will need to get their match sheets and money directly to me. I don't live that far away and if you organise it amongst yourselves you can do it in one and avoid duplication. Details are on the team officials' forum.
