Lots of goals in the SICM Sevens

Thursday February 18 2010

It was a case of entertainment galore on Monday evening as the three games saw a total of thirty four goals. There were big wins for Hilly House as the beat AFC Fatherless Barn 11-2 in the DBMT and for St Matthew's Ravens as they hit nine past Stour Valley Rovers in the league for no reply. And even the drawn game between Midland Elite FC and Ebenezer FC ended up six all!

As you can imagine there were some individuals that got amongst the goal tally with three hitting the net four times each. These were Shaun Perry and Tom Adams of Hilly House and the Ravens' Peter Madge. Regardless of the goals scored though, it was the results that produced the movement in the league table, with St Matthew's climbing into third spot and Ebenezer swapping places with the Barn. The win for Hilly House sends them to the top of their group in the DBMT and in that case the number of times they found the net did count as they head the group on goal difference.
