 Looking good for B&Q

Wednesday February 10 2010

Just when they look like they could be caught, Brandhall & Quinton seem to get the result that they need. And they did that on Monday evening as they defeated Ebenezer FC 7-1. Anything but a win would have given the chasing pack hope, but surely we are talking about the champions-elect? Or is that the kiss of death! But with Monday evening's table showing a seven point lead over second place, and a game in hand, with just six games to go, surely the title is theirs!

Crestwood Cobras moved into the spot behind them, courtesy of their 3-1 win over Kingsway Lions. Behind at the break, they hit three second period goals to indeed prove the cliche that football is a game of two halves. It wasn't good news for their stablemates though, as Crestwood Church FC continued their win-less year by going down 5-3 to Hilly House FC. Although they remain in seventh place, with games in hand, Hilly House can climb into second. It's a tight league this time round.

And finally, as far as Monday is concerned we are waiting for match sheets and money from both the Crestwood teams. If you could get those to us asap, that would be appreciated. Although, as Columbo would say, just one more thing. A pitch has become free on Monday evenings and so from March we will be playing four games at 9pm with just the one Tuesday game at the same time. This will help with fixture compilation as many teams struggle to do a Tuesday.
