It's not been a good year for the Crestwood teams so far, and on Monday night both tasted defeat once again. Both were league games and with the Crestwood stable occupying second and third places prior to kick off, there was plenty of incentive to get a result. The closest game was between Crestwood Church FC and St Matthew's Ravens, which looked like ending up as a 0-0 (we don't get many of them) until the Ravens clinched the points with a single goal. Having been quietly climbing the table in recent weeks, they now sit pretty in second spot. The Cobras lost to Tipton Family Church FC 7-2, but the scoreline gives a deceptive appearance. Into the second half it was 2-2, and when the score is like that, the game can go either way. And fortunately for TFC it went theirs and they ran out comfortable winners in the end. With six different goalscorers, they will also take comfort from the fact that all their eggs aren't in one basket. It's great to have someone who can find the net on a regualr basis, but it's also good to know that anyone can pop up with a goal or two. And talking of finding the net, Tom Adams, scored Monday night's only hat-trick as he hit all three of Hilly House's goals in their 3-5 defeat at the hands of Midland Elite FC. This was a DBMT game and it's looking good for Elite in the group stage so far. With their next two games also in the competition, they could well be the first team to qualify for the last eight. A goal for Amo Sandhu keeps him at the top of the pile as well, with twenty four so far this season.
