Sunday report and the week ahead

Monday January 25 2010

On Sunday morning I took the service at Tipton Family Church, leading and preaching. A fan of Sony Vaio I have recently added a netbook to my armoury and this was the first time I have used it in church. It was a very positive aid as I had the order of service on there as well as the sermon notes. It was funny though using it for the very first time, it reminded me of my first mobile phone which was in the days when not many people had them. I used to feel very self-conscious at first using it in public. But now of course everyone has one and it's ok!

The sermon was the third in the Incommunicable Attributes series and was titled 'God is omniscient'. As always a condensed version will be produced and will be on the YouTube playlist this week. In the service I also did a slot asking whether the recent Haiti earthquake was judgement from God. I looked at the various views, shared what I thought and then left it to people to make their own mind up.

The week ahead will see me complete January's daily devotions. I said I would do this last week but I added a few more February ones instead. They are getting reasonable hits on YouTube, some more than others of course. But as they will be on there for good, it's not a short-term project. Check them out, the link is on the home page of the SICM site.

The weather forecast means the SICM Sevens will go ahead again this week, which is good news. I won't actually be playing this time round as we have a rotation system which gives everyone equal opportunity. But I'll still be there cheering everyone on.Come on Tipton Family Church FC! Plus I'm involved in the running of the league so will be there anyway!

Apart from that it's the usual administration stuff. Not incredibly exciting but a necessary part of making sure things run smoothly. But as an administrator anyway, I enjoy that sort of thing. And finally, because I live a full and balanced life, I will be doing some fishing, spending time with my family and Wolves have a home game as well that I will be at. A busy but blessed week ahead. Would have it any other way!
