Thursday June 25 2009 SICM Sevens update
As the season draws to a close there are invariably lots of notices and announcements that will have to be made. Firstly, we need votes for the Fair Play Award trophy (details in last week's update which can be found on the noticeboard). In spite of it being on here for a week, only 1 team responded. We also need to reinforce the need to get tickets before the July deadline date so that the presentation can go ahead. And regarding trophies all teams will need to clear fines before the order is placed (details will be published soon). And finally the 2009/2010 site is now being updated regularly so keep checking that out. And now for this week's football! St Matthew's Ravens are looking good for runners-up after they raised their game in the second half against Brandhall & quinton FC. A last minute winner from Peter Madge puts them in second place, replacing Tipton Family Church FC. But they both have identical goal differences (39) and should the Ravens lose in their final match, then Tipton will finish runners-up. Kingsway Lions roared to the top of the mini-league as they hit the goal trail in their fixture with AFC Fatherless Barn, while there's no stopping Juaniche Wanderers, who ended the season in style as they left Hilly House Adecco reeling. This coming Monday sees most of the league fixtures completed, while The Summer Cup starts the week after!
