May 15 2008 A few days ago we reported on the carpentry project in Uganda and included a photograph of the young men with the tools that had been purchased for them. We have now had a report from Michael Opinya the workshop manager who writes the following: 'We send our thanks for the support of carpentry tools that we have received...the project is now benefiting us as a group and greatly improved our standard of living...our products continually gives us reasonable money and makes us sustainable...not only does the project help us to generate money but it acts as a training centre for the local youths and communities...we recently trained five more youths with skills for practical work to help them learn a living and be profitable to society...the centre is actually busy and Levi Elonga visits us once in a while to see our developments...thank you for helping us make use of the project to eradicate poverty amongst ourselves and giving us a sense of self-respect...God be with you all and use you for the good of His kingdom.'
