Kenyan refugees in Uganda hear the gospel

January 26 2008

I'm sure that we are all aware of the political situation in Kenya at the present time. And whilst the media will inevitably present the situation as bad news, nevertheless even the darkest hour presents opportunity to those who are serving God. As the refugees have spilled over into Uganda, where camps are being set up and basic requirements are being provided for, Levi Elonga is also ministering to the spiritual needs of the people. As we know, it is often in turmoil that individuals are at their most receptive to the gospel. The following is an extract from an e-mail received from Levi:

'..we have large groups of people from Kenya who recently crossed over to Uganda due to political violence and killings there. They are now in Uganda and taking refuge in the towns of Malaba, Tororo and Mbale. We will soon be meeting these groups and share with them good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity for us to meet and minister to them - we will be there next week and will send a report after so keep us in your prayers.'
